Researchers plan to search the atmosphere for unidentified airborne phenomena that could be a sign of “aliens
The project is led by Harvard physicist Avi Loeb, who previously stated that the interstellar object “Oumuamua” could be an alien probe. While most researchers agree that it was a space rock – a comet or fragment of a tiny planet – Loeb believes that there are countless other objects like Oumuamua passing near our planet, and some may have been created by aliens. So he has launched his own program to find them.
On Monday, Leeb announced an initiative called Project Galileo, in honor of the famous Italian astronomer. As part of this mission, he and his team will create new technology that will look for physical evidence of alien technology and civilizations in the solar system.
