Helicopter flying to Guantanamo crashed in Cuba

A helicopter flying from Holguin Province to the Guantánamo Bay area, where the naval base and prison are located, crashed in Cuba, CubaDebate reported.

The accident occurred in the morning of January 29. The aircraft crashed into an elevated position and crashed. As a result of the accident five crew members died.

A Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces commission is currently investigating what caused the crash.

The Guantanamo Bay prison is a camp for people suspected by U.S. authorities of various crimes, mostly terrorism, waging war on the side of the enemy. It is located on an indefinitely leased naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
