Henry Cavill is injured on the set of the The Witcher sequel

Production on the second season of the popular Netflix series The Witcher continues without a major star – British actor Henry Cavill has injured his leg on set.

It has been revealed that Cavill is recovering from a “non-serious” leg muscle injury, which he sustained while filming the series at Arborfield Studios in London. Cavill is expected to be rehabilitated and back on set as the series gets underway without him.

According to Britain’s The Sun, Cavill injured his foot while doing a stunt 20 feet up, using special safety ropes.

Production on the second season of The Witcher has been halted twice – in March when actor Christopher Heaview fell ill with the coronavirus, and in November also after several positive cases of COVID-19 infection among the cast.

The Netflix fantasy epic is one of the most popular streamers, with 76 million households having watched the first episode. Cavill plays Heralt of Rivia, a lone monster hunter who struggles to find his place in a world where humans are often more evil than evil.
