As a result of a traffic accident in Egypt, 12 people died and six were injured.
A van overcrowded with people collided with a pickup truck on the highway leading to Cairo near the city of Kom-Ombo. The cause of the accident was not specified.
According to statistics from the World Health Organization, 12,000 people die each year in traffic accidents in Egypt. In most cases, the cause of the accidents is the human factor – the drivers grossly violate the traffic rules, do not observe the speed limit and commit dangerous maneuvers when overtaking.
Earlier in the west of Cameroon there was a large-scale accident involving a bus and a truck. As a result of the incident almost 40 people were killed.
