In Germany, a woman gave birth in a helicopter at an altitude of 150 meters

A newborn baby was born in a helicopter 150 meters above the ground in Germany. Medics were not able to deliver a pregnant woman to the clinic in time, and the baby, named Martin, was born on board the helicopter.

The incident happened the day before in the city of Osnabrück (the federal state of Lower Saxony). Medics sent a helicopter to the home of 24-year-old Sonja Lamers after the woman felt that she would give birth earlier than expected. Doctors were never able to get the woman to the clinic in time, so they had to deliver the baby in the air. Fortunately, it went well and mother and baby were taken to the hospital. They felt well and were ready to be discharged.

Sonja Lamers told reporters that her husband did not have enough room in the helicopter, so he had to get to the hospital in his car.

“By the time he arrived, he was already a father!” – pointed out with a smile the happy woman.

Note that the last time an air birth happened in Germany was 28 years ago. The baby was born in a Christophe 1 helicopter in Bavaria.
