In the western state of Maharashtra in India, an ancient lake turned pink in a few days
It is reported by CNN.
Lonar Lake was formed about 50,000 years ago after a meteorite fell to Earth.
Experts attribute the change in its color to a change in the level of salinity and the presence of algae in the water.
“This year it looks especially pink because this year the salinity of the water has increased. The amount of water in the lake decreased, and the lake became smaller, so salinity increased and caused some internal changes, ”said local geologist Gajanan Kharat.
