Scientists found high levels of nickel in milk samples consumed by residents in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the expert Avr Mohan, the milk should not contain nickel. This is reported by Al Jazeera.
At the moment, scientists are trying to figure out what causes such a high concentration of nickel in milk. The likely route is from pesticides.
“They must be in the grass that the cattle eat,” noted Avra Mohan.
In all, more than 600 people were hospitalized in Andhra Pradesh. Three of them died.
At first it was thought that the source of the poisoning might have been water, and later mosquito repellent.
