Iranian scientist Majid Taheri returned home on Monday after being released from prison in the United States, ISNA reported.
At the airport in Tehran, he was met by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Jabery Ansari.
“I hope that other Iranians will be released in the near future,” Ansari told reporters.
It is noted that this is the second Iranian who returned home in the last week after his release in the United States.
Taheri was released last week after Iran returned freedom to U.S. Marine Michael White, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for insulting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and publishing anti-Iranian statements on the Internet under a pseudonym.
An Iranian scientist was previously accused of violating US sanctions in the United States and sentenced to 16 months in prison.
