Islamic Revolutionary Guard ship attacked

An Islamic Revolutionary Guard cargo ship was attacked today in the Red Sea, west of the coast of Yemen, Iranian media reported.

According to suspicion, the ship, called the Sabiz, is used to gather intelligence about Saudi Arabia and Yemen for the Hussein rebels.

The ship reportedly serves as a sort of floating operating room in the Red Sea and is known to intelligence agencies in the West as a vessel used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards for espionage and electronic surveillance.

According to Reuters, anonymous sources quoted by Al-Arabiya said the cargo ship attacked off the coast of Eritrea was involved in Islamic Revolutionary Guard activities, but provided no evidence to support their claims.

Reuters said they could not verify the report and that Iranian officials remained silent.
