U.S. President Joe Biden formally appointed Nides as ambassador to Israel on Tuesday, June 15.
Nides is an executive director of the investment banking firm Morgan Stanley. He was undersecretary of state for management and resources. Nides has been in close contact with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. His nomination must now be confirmed by the Senate.
