The U.S. has completed a review of “hostile” actions attributed to Russia, in particular, cyberattacks and interference in elections. Now the administration of President Joe Biden is studying the question of the possible introduction of new sanctions and the expulsion of Russian diplomats.
The material of the agency notes that the expulsion is considered in relation to the Russian “intelligence officers” who are in the United States under “diplomatic cover”. In addition, sanctions against persons close to the Kremlin and agencies allegedly involved in meddling in the election are being studied.
In late March, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington was close to completing its review of Russia’s “hostile” actions and intended to take serious action. According to him, the U.S. sees various examples of Russian aggression – hacker attacks, interference in elections, and the use of chemical weapons.
