Scientists have named the place in which the cleanest air on Earth. According to researchers from the University of Colorado and Australian scientists, the cleanest air can be found somewhere above the waters of the Southern Ocean. Expert findings are available in the journal Proceedings of the Natural Academy of Sciences.
Because of man and his activities, all places with a “pristine” environment have practically disappeared from the Earth. Scientists believe that the cleanest air can be found over the totality of the waters of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans that wash Antarctica. These places were least affected by aerosol pollution and dust from the continents.
Specialists sailed on a ship from Tasmania to Antarctica, simultaneously collecting air samples. So they found that Antarctica is most likely isolated from the spread of bacteria from the southern continents.
