James Blake postponed the release of his fifth album due to production problems

British composer and electronic musician James Blake has announced on his social media that his next record will be released a little later than originally planned. The fifth studio album, Friends That Break Your Heart, will be released Oct. 8, due to delays in physical production as a result of the pandemic.

Blake announced the new album in July with the single “Say That You Will.” “Frineds That Break Your Heart” was originally scheduled for release Sept. 10.

Following his 2019 studio album “Assume Form,” Blake released two mini-albums last year, “Covers” and “Before.” He also contributed to new projects Slowthai, Starrah and Flatbush Zombies during the quarantine.
