Japan will prosecute bloggers who retold movies on YouTube

In Japan police arrested YouTube-channel authors on which they were releasing short retellings of movie plots.

The bloggers had received complaints from rights holders for illegal use of footage from films and disclosure of their plot.

In addition, the complainants noted that the retelling of the pictures was so accurate that viewers simply lost interest in the films and refused to go to the cinema.

According to the updated Copyright Law in Japan, the misbegotten bloggers could even face criminal liability.
