The head of the U.S. division of multinational corporation JBS Andre Nogueira said the company has paid hackers who attacked its systems with ransomware viruses $11 million.
“The company’s American division has confirmed that it paid the equivalent of $11 million in ransom in response to the criminal hack. I believe we did the right thing for our customers,” the publication quoted him as saying.
Nogueira added that the money was transferred to the hackers after the majority of the company resumed work stopped because of the attack. Note that so far, experts have not figured out how exactly the hackers got access to the computers of JBS.
