Actor Jean-Paul Belmondo died at the age of 88 years. This was reported by Agence France-Presse, citing his lawyer

Belmondo was born April 9, 1933 in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Seine department, France). At school he chose between sports and acting. By the age of 20, he enrolled at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de la Dramatique. After its completion he began a professional career.
The fame of the artist brought the roles in the films “The Professional”, “Last Breath” and many others.
In addition to filming in motion pictures, he also showed himself in the theater.
After suffering a stroke in 2001, Belmondo stopped acting, but in 2008 he returned to the set and played in Francis Huster’s The Man and His Dog. In 2015 he announced the end of his film career.
