Disney Studios will not allow Johnny Depp to return to his iconic role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the new “Pirates of the Caribbean”. That’s what The Hollywood Reporter’s sources are reporting.
Last week, THR’s website published a big story about the collapse of Johnny Depp’s career, his canceled projects, and the losses the studios suffered after his scandal with Amber Heard.
According to insiders, Disney has long since severed ties with Depp — long before the court ruling, but nothing has been said officially. But producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who was behind “Pirates,” wanted Depp back for at least a small cameo, but the article claims that the studio turned him down.
As a reminder, Depp was previously fired “at will” from the “Fantastic Beasts” trilogy and will be replaced by Mads Mikkelson. This came after a court ruled in favor of his ex-wife Amber Heard in a defamation suit. The Sun claimed that Johnny Depp beat his ex-wife.
