July 4: Fireworks lit up the night skies of New York and Washington, D.C.

This year holds special significance as the country slowly returns to normalcy. The crowd in Washington, D.C., celebrated America’s 245th anniversary of independence with a monumental fireworks display on National Mall. New York City also launched an incredible fireworks display as darkness fell.

After nearly a year and a half of isolation amid the COVID-19 pandemic, people are eager to return, and the traditional Fourth of July celebration had special meaning in that sense. The National Park Service said the National Mall provides “the best view” for this year’s show, “one of the most spectacular in recent memory.” The fireworks display at the American capitol was launched near the Lincoln Memorial just after 09:00 р.м.
