Lavrov and Pompeo discussed preparations for a meeting of the UN Security Council

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a telephone conversation discussed preparations for a meeting of the leaders of five countries – permanent members of the UN Security Council, proposed by Moscow. In late April, Lavrov announced a meeting of five permanent members of the UN Security Council in the form of a video conference. In addition to Russia, the five countries also include the USA, France, China and the United Kingdom. The summit was proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the end of January in Jerusalem.
