The famous Italian composer Ennio Morricone, an Oscar winner, passed away at the age of 91.
Morricone died tonight in a hospital in Rome. A few days ago he was taken to the hospital with a hip fracture. In a statement by the Morricone family, the composer “until the last moment kept his mind completely clear and of greatest dignity.”
Ennio Morricone is one of the geniuses of our time. He is the creator of original music for 500 films and series, including the works of Bernardo Bertolucci, John Carpenter, Quentin Tarantino, Barry Levinson, Oliver Stone, Roman Polanski and many others. In 2007, he received an Oscar for his contribution to the development of cinema, in 2016 – for the soundtrack to Tarantino’s “The Abominable Eight”.
