LG showed a transparent TV

LG presented a transparent 55-inch OLED-TV. The presentation took place during the CES 2021 exhibition.

A working prototype OLED Smart Bed can stow away at the foot of the bed when not in use. The company also showed several scenarios of use when the TV is partially retracted: in this case, various useful information – such as time and weather – is displayed. Speakers are also built into the same frame.

LG DIsplay introduced solutions based on a transparent screen for the subway and other public places: “This technology maximizes the benefits of OLEDs and can be used in various places, including stores, shopping malls, architectural sites, as well as in public transport, subway cars, planes.”

In August 2020, Xiaomi announced a transparent TV with a 55-inch panel. The TV has a screen refresh rate of 120 hertz, 10-bit color depth and covers 93 percent of the color space DCI-P3. The owners of the device said that at a cost of seven thousand dollars, the TV has only FullHD resolution.
