It is noted that only one day in the state of Uttar Pradesh from this natural phenomenon killed 24 people. It is known that on June 25 in the state of Bihar, at least 83 more people were killed by lightning. In total, 107 people died from lightning strikes in two days.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter that tragic news was received about the deaths in northern India. He emphasized that state governments are engaged in emergency assistance and expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims. It is known that the authorities will pay them compensation in the amount of about 5.3 thousand US dollars (about 370 thousand rubles).
