Mass coronavirus vaccination begins in the UK

The first to receive the vaccine from BioNTech and Pfizer will be the elderly and physicians.

The UK received its first doses of BioNTech and Pfizer Coronavirus vaccine on Saturday, December 5.

The first vaccinations will begin on December 8, the Daily Mail reports, citing a statement by Chris Hopson, Managing Director of the UK National Health Service.

The first vaccinations will be given to residents and staff of nursing homes, persons over 80 years of age, as well as medical personnel who treat patients infected with coronavirus.

Over the next week, 800 thousand doses of vaccines are expected to be distributed in the UK. The authorities hope that “millions” more doses will be delivered before the New Year.
