Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey may run for governor of his home state of Texas in the future. He compares modern politics with ruined business.
The 51-year-old actor may one day enter the political arena, he recently appeared on the Hugh Hewitt Show and spoke about potential political aspirations.
The Oscar winner noted that he “may be” interested in running for governor someday. “I don’t know. I mean, it’s none of my business. It will depend more on people than on me. But I would say that politics seems to be a ruined business to me now. And when politics redefines its goal, I could be much more interested,” the actor replied.
McConaughey said he is interested in “supporting personal values to restore people’s social contracts with each other. Politicians and Americans today have lost confidence in each other, he said, and that could eventually lead to anarchy.
