Economists predict that half the British population will be vaccinated in March, the U.S. and Canada will reach that threshold in a month, the EU, Japan and Australia in May.
Goldman Sachs analysts expect that by mid 2021, most of the population in the major developed economies will receive the coronavirus vaccine, which will contribute to the “sharp rise” in global economic growth. This is reported by Bloomberg.
“We expect that the majority of the population will be vaccinated at the end of the second quarter,” economists Daan Steven and Sid Bhushan wrote in a report for bank customers.
It is noted that the greatest hopes for an end to the pandemic that plunged the world economy into a deep recession after the Great Depression lie in the approval of the vaccine.
“Although there are already positive test results, manufacturers and governments face logistical hurdles to successfully vaccinate hundreds of millions of people around the world,” the agency writes.
