Merkel invites Zelensky to Germany for a talk

German Chancellor Angela Merkel invites Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Berlin. At the meeting may discuss bilateral relations and a peaceful settlement in Donbass. This is stated in the message on the website of the President on the results of the conversation between the leaders of the two states.

It is reported that Zelensky and Merkel noted the peculiarities of today’s date. Day of mourning and remembrance of the victims of the war in Ukraine, noting the importance of historical responsibility for the crimes of Nazism.

“Our conversation takes place on a special date. The world must do everything to ensure that such tragedies never happen again,” Zelensky said.

He reiterated Merkel’s invitation to visit Ukraine to participate in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and events to mark the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.

“For her part, the Federal Chancellor invited the head of the Ukrainian state to carry out a visit to Berlin in the near future to discuss a number of issues of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Germany and the process of the peace settlement in Donbass,” the message said.
