Microsoft called the December cyberattack “probably the biggest and most sophisticated attack the world has ever seen. The company’s president, Brad Smith, said this in an interview with CBS television.
“When we analyzed everything we saw at Microsoft, we asked ourselves how many engineers could have worked on these attacks. And we came up with the answer that it was certainly more than 1,000,” he noted.
U.S. intelligence agencies have suggested that Russia may have been behind the hacking of the networks of government and private companies in America and many other countries.
According to experts, it will take months to repair the damage.
