Mogadishu bombing kills three people

A powerful explosion has rocked the Somali capital of Mogadishu, killing at least three people.

“So far, the deaths of three people, two civilians and one security officer, have been confirmed. However, the death toll could be higher,” said a Somali law enforcement official.

Local media also reported that the explosion occurred near the Afrik Hotel. It was carried out by a suicide bomber. After that, the hotel was taken over by militants of a local radical group. Special Forces soldiers began to storm the building, there are many ambulances around it and the area is cordoned off by army units.
