More than 130 employees of the U.S. Secret Service, which, among others, is responsible for protecting President Donald Trump, have contracted COVID-19.
The Washington Post reported this, citing three sources familiar with the situation.
All of those infected have received self-imposed isolation orders or have been quarantined in specialized facilities.
The outbreak was the result of Trump’s large-scale election rallies and his trips around the country. For the safety of the First Person dozens of employees were involved in all the events.
As a result, about 10% of the Secret Service staff were temporarily incapacitated.
