More than 140 people with unknown disease were hospitalized in India

Indian authorities started investigating the cause of an unknown disease, as a result of which more than 140 people were hospitalized over the weekend.

The doctors said the patients found a wide range of symptoms, including nausea, seizures and loss of consciousness. Many of the patients, especially children, were suffering from vomiting and complained about burning their eyes, said a doctor from the Eluru State Hospital.

All hospitalized patients passed the COVID-19 test. Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Kali Krishna Srinivas said no traces of coronavirus were found in the blood. The official said it was a mysterious disease. “Only a laboratory analysis will show what it is,” the minister concluded.

Previously, more than 100 fishermen in Senegal were infected with an unknown disease. The center of infection is located near the capital, Dakar. Scab rashes on the skin were found to be symptoms of the disease.
