Prolonged heat can adversely affect sleep quality. Neurologist-somnologist Elena Tsareva spoke about this on the air of Sputnik radio.
She explained that the high air temperature makes it difficult to fall into deep sleep. The optimal temperature for sleep, Russian scientists consider 21-23 degrees.
To better fall asleep in the heat, the somnologist recommended to lie down in a ventilated and cool room, close the windows during the day and open in the evening. You should also give up blankets and cover yourself with sheets.
Earlier, doctors revealed the main danger of heat to health: first of all, such weather carries a risk for people suffering from cardiovascular diseases. In addition, the heat puts additional stress on the respiratory organs.
