NASA: Martian helicopter has landed on the Red Planet

“Minivertollet” Ingenuity made a successful landing on Mars.

It was reported by NASA on its official Twitter page.

“Martian helicopter landing confirmed! The journey of 293 million miles – 471 million kilometers aboard Persevere ended with a final drop of 10 centimeters from the rover’s belly to the planet’s surface. The next stage? Survive the night,” the message said.

The Perseverance rover arrived on the Red Planet on February 18. It has been in flight for seven months. The Ingenuity small craft separated from the rover on April 4. The first flight of the 1.8-kilogram helicopter is scheduled for April 11.
