In Slovenia, a new bronze statue of the first US ice, Melania Trump, has appeared – to replace the wooden one burned in July.
The new sculpture is an exact replica of the original wood version by American artist Brad Downey. It is located near Melania’s hometown of Sevnica in central Slovenia.
The original statue was set on fire by unknown persons on 4 July. The rustic figure was carved from the trunk of a linden tree and featured the first lady of the United States in a pale blue dress similar to the one she wore at President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The plaque next to the new inscription says that it is “dedicated to the eternal memory of the memorial to Melania, who stood at this place.”
