New symptoms of Indian strain COVID-19 disclosed

The strain of coronavirus discovered in India, which has begun to spread actively in other regions of the world, is the result of two mutations.

Fever, coughing, fatigue, loss of taste and smell remain some of the most telling symptoms of the disease. However, the new strain also has new symptoms that are more reminiscent of the common cold.

The disease can feel like a cold or some discomfort resembling an allergic reaction or pollinosis. “Any sensation that seems atypical, strange, is a good reason to isolate yourself and get tested,” said Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London.

The new COVID-19 variant also has more powerful infectious potential, allowing it to penetrate the body more easily, overcoming resistance from the immune system.

Earlier, Deputy Director for Clinical and Analytical Work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor Natalia Pshenichnaya stated that young people are the main spreader of the Indian strain of coronavirus in Russia. She explained that the growth of COVID-19 disease could not be avoided because of mass ignorance of coronavirus prophylaxis. According to her, young people, as the most active part of the population, contribute to the spread of the Indian strain in different age groups.
