Nicole Kidman could play the legendary Lucille Ball

Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are in talks to star in a biographical film about comedienne Lucille Ball.

Variety reports that Nicole Kidman, 53, and Javier Bardem, 51, are in talks to play the married couple – Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz, who became stars and influential producers after the series “I Love Lucy.

It was previously reported that the role of Ball could be played by Cate Blanchett, with Gillian Anderson and Sarah Drew also being predicted to embody her.

Frances Fisher played Ball in the only film devoted entirely to the actress’ life, “Lucy and Desi: Before Laughter.” But the 1991 project was trashed by critics.

Ball died in 1989 at the age of 77, and Arnaz died in 1986 at the age of 69.
