The basketball jersey worn by U.S. President Barack Obama at the Punahou Private School in Honolulu was sold for a record amount for the school’s basketball jersey.
The school basketball jersey of the 44th U.S. President Barack Obama was sold at the online auction of Julien’s Auctions for a record $192,000.
T-shirt number 23 belonged to Obama during his school years, while he was studying at a private school Punahou in Honolulu.
The previous record – $187,500 for the school jersey – belongs to the sports relic of American basketball player Lebron James.
At the auction was also sold a basketball player Michael Jordan jersey for $ 320 thousand, in which the athlete was in 1984, when he announced the signing of a contract with the club Chicago Bulls. The previous record for Jordan’s T-shirt was $288 thousand.
Obama was president of the United States from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017.
