The United States will be ahead of other nations in developing a coronavirus vaccine and will share the development with all countries around the world, said Robert O’Brien, presidential adviser on national security, in an interview with CBS.

“I think we will be the first to develop the vaccine, the president promised that if we develop the vaccine, we will share it with the world,” O’Brien said.

He also said he did not rule out a scenario where Chinese special services would try to steal the development from the US – such reports have already appeared in the White House.

According to him, China has “a long history of stealing American secrets and intellectual property,” as well as counterfeiting technology.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in the city of Wuhan. The cause of the disease is a new type of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19 disease. On 11 March, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared an outbreak of the new coronavirus a pandemic.
