Pence may resort to the 25th Amendment if Trump becomes "more unstable"

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence could resort to the 25th Amendment, which would allow him and a majority of his cabinet to remove Donald Trump from power if he becomes “more unstable.”

This amendment was passed in the wake of the Kennedy assassination. It seeks to address situations where illness or death prevents a president from either serving or resigning. It is theoretically possible to use the amendment against a president who is of sound mind but does not want to resign.
