Japanese doctor Koichi Hirahata warned of the serious consequences of a mild form of coronavirus.
Hirahata noted that the consequences of the disease for many patients are often more terrible than the virus itself. According to him, more than a third of those who developed coronavirus after-effects became bedridden after the disease. The doctor also said that even those who lay with a fever for just one day, or even asymptomatic at all, face serious consequences.
For example, among patients suffering from the effects of the coronavirus, 97.1 percent complain of weakness, 86.8 percent complain of depression, and 83 percent complain of “fog in the head.” Also among the symptoms noted are headaches, insomnia, difficulty breathing, lack of appetite, hair loss and pain throughout the body.
The specialist added that the consequences of the disease in the mild form are mostly suffered by relatively young people under 40-50 years of age: they account for more than 80 percent of those who fall ill. He also stressed that women face the disease one and a half times more often than men.
Earlier, Vladimir Bolibok, an immunologist and allergologist, said that gastrointestinal symptoms are most typical for young patients with coronavirus. He added that children and adolescents often suffer from abdominal pain, unsteady stool, loss of appetite and heartburn.
