Amanda Gorman, the young American poetess who performed at Joe Biden’s inauguration, has signed a contract with the IMG modeling agency.
Less than a week after appearing at the inauguration, Poets Youth Award winner Amanda Gorman has signed with one of the world’s largest modeling agencies. On Monday, the 22-year-old Harvard graduate inked a deal with IMG Models, which represents Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen.
Gorman was one of the big stars at last week’s presidential inauguration, reciting her powerful poem “The Heights We Climb.” The Los Angeles native not only touched audiences in Washington and around the world, but also impressed with her striking fashion choices. In a yellow double-breasted Prada coat and a red satin headband, the poet and activist stood out from the crowd. She completed the outfit with jewelry donated to her by Oprah Winfrey from independent designers, including New York-based brand Of Rare Origin and Greek jewelry maker Nikos Koulis.
Gorman’s forthcoming books Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem and The Hill We Climb and Other Poems are currently topping Amazon’s bestseller list. Her social media followers have also multiplied.
