The ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called the published records, which allegedly recorded his conversations with former US vice president Joseph Biden, an attempt to undermine the strategic partnership between Kiev and Washington. He wrote about this on June 22 on Facebook.

“The goal of the next fabrication of conversations between Ukrainian and American officials is to make the Ukrainian issue toxic to Washington and destroy the bipartisan support for Ukraine by the United States,” Poroshenko wrote.

The former head of state called these films false, attributing their creation to foreign agents.

“Exposing the famous screenwriters of the next information attack against Ukraine and our strategic partnership with the United States is the responsibility of the current Ukrainian government. I hope that the Ukrainian authorities will finally stop looking blindly at crimes of the fifth column, ”he added.

Earlier on the same day, the independent deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Derkach unveiled the second part of the audio recordings of telephone conversations allegedly Poroshenko with Biden in 2016.

As follows from the notes, a man with a voice similar to Biden’s voice discussed the dismissal of Andriy Kobolev from the post of head of the Ukrainian company Naftogaz Ukrainy. He spoke out against this, and the interlocutor with a voice similar to the voice of Poroshenko promised to prevent this.

The interlocutors also discussed the need to increase tariffs in Ukraine at the request of the IMF and the candidacy of Yuriy Lutsenko for the post of prosecutor general.

Another topic of conversation was the nationalization of Privatbank, cooperation between the US and Ukrainian special services, the case against the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Onishchenko.

In late May, Poroshenko did not come for questioning to the State Bureau of Investigation in the case of wiretapping his conversation with Biden. In telephone conversations, allegedly Poroshenko, Biden and former US Secretary of State John Kerry discuss issues of domestic policy of Ukraine. Records were made at the end of 2015 and in 2016, and Derkach also published them.
