Portland mayor sprays pepper spray in face of man who argued with him

The mayor of the American city of Portland sprayed pepper spray in the face of a man who argued with him about a mask.

The report said Mayor Ted Wheeler was leaving a pub when he was approached by a stranger who did not wear a mask. While filming what was happening on his phone, the man accused the politician of not wearing a mask while sitting in the restaurant, as required by the rules. Wheeler countered that he was sitting on the veranda. He added that personal protective equipment was allowed to be removed during meals.

The man did not calm down and followed the mayor to his car. According to Wheeler, the stranger got too close, which caused the politician to become very anxious, and he sprayed pepper spray in his eyes. The mayor said in his defense that he was afraid of contracting the coronavirus.

Earlier it was reported that a passenger in the Moscow subway beat up a woman without a mask who coughed loudly. The conflict began at the metro station “Profsoyuznaya,” while passengers were waiting for the train – then the man pushed the woman. After they entered the car, he jumped on her and began hitting her with his fists, he was stopped by other passengers.
