Damage from the tornado was estimated at $800,000.
On the evening of June 1, a tornado hit the city of Shangzhi in Heilongjiang province in northeast China.
148 houses, agricultural land and factories were damaged by the tornado. Authorities have estimated the damage at about $800,000. Up to 250 people were temporarily displaced from Shangji.
One person was killed and 16 others were injured as a result of the accident. The condition of one of the injured is assessed as critical by doctors.
