Scientists at the Institute of Global Medical Sciences, University of California, have named professions with the highest risk of death from coronavirus.
Thus, the most vulnerable group after doctors, were workers of food enterprises and agriculture. Compared with the usual mortality rate, their figure rose by 39 percent. Then go transport and logistics workers. Among them, the mortality rate increased by 28 percent.
The third group includes people who work in manufacturing enterprises – 27 percent, as well as specialists of manufacturing industry. The increase in mortality among them rose by 23 percent.
Scientists obtained these results of the study when they analyzed questionnaire data of COVID-19 sufferers in California from March to October 2020. In total, the region’s mortality rate rose 22 percent during that period.
In December, Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova said the highest incidence of coronavirus in Russia was among industrial workers. She pointed out that enterprises should take additional efforts to organize workplace safety.
