Pushkov responded to US demand to stop missile development

Senator Alexei Pushkov responded to the US demand that Russia stop developing nuclear-powered missiles. He published the corresponding statement on his Twitter account.

Pushkov noted that the US calls Russian missiles “flying Chernobyl” while they themselves are replacing Minuteman ICBMs with new models. He asked how they should be called: humane weapons or “angels from heaven.” According to Pushkov, they can be called the “Doomsday” weapon.

Earlier, the US President’s special envoy for arms control Marshall Billingsley said that Russia should stop developing and implementing the latest types of nuclear-powered missiles. He called the Russian missiles “flying Chernobyl” and “Doomsday systems” because of the radioactive emissions they can create during flight.
