Raper Leel Wayne will be tried for possession of weapons

The rapper Lil Wayne was charged with possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He can be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison, Florida authorities say.

Documents filed with the Miami Federal Court on November 17, 2020, say the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., found weapons and ammunition on December 23 last year. Since he had previously been convicted, the law did not allow him to own or store a weapon. For violating this federal rule, he is facing a large prison sentence.

The authorities stated that a 38-year-old rapper admitted that the gilded gun found in his private jet belonged to him. Carter told the investigators that the pistol was a gift for Father’s Day.

The police also found drugs in the luggage of one of the accompanying rapers, but Carter was found not to be involved.

Earlier, Lil Wayne was sentenced to eight months in New York City.
