Resistance forces reported capturing hundreds of Taliban in Panjsher

The Afghan National Resistance Front, a coalition of militias united around Ahmad Masoud in the Panjsher Valley, reported the capture of hundreds of Taliban fighters.

According to Frente spokesman Fahim Dashti, thousands of Taliban have been encircled in the Hawak Pass area. The fighting is fierce there. In Dasht Revak area, militants have retreated, abandoning their equipment and military hardware. These statements are not confirmed by independent sources.

It should be recalled that even in the previous government, in 1996-2001, the Taliban failed to seize the Panjsher Gorge, which was controlled by the legendary field commander Ahmad Shah Masoud, the father of Ahmad Masoud. He was killed by al-Qaeda fighters a few days before the 9/11 attacks.
