Russian law enforcement agencies have declared opposition politician Alexei Navalny wanted.
It is noted that Navalny will be detained immediately upon arrival in Russia.
In particular, representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia are obliged to take all possible steps in relation to Navalny’s detention after he arrives on Russian territory.
The detention is reportedly scheduled to take place before the court commutes his suspended sentence to a real one.
In Russia, Navalny was given a suspended sentence on fraud charges. In 2014, he was sentenced to 3.5 years probation, although Yves Rocher withdrew its claims during the trial.
The ECHR found the sentence arbitrary and unreasonable.
Navalny had been wanted since last December as he was charged with a probation violation, claiming that his actual residence address had remained unknown since September.
