Samsung smartphones rose record prices

The cost of Samsung smartphones has increased to a record high. It is reported by The Korea Herald, citing a study of Strategic Analytics.

In the first quarter of 2020, the average cost of brand smartphones (ASP) increased to $ 292. According to analysts, this is the highest rate in six years. Strategic Analytics notes that in 2019 ASP was $ 247, in 2018 – $ 251, in 2017 – $ 243. The record cost of Samsung smartphones was recorded in 2014, when the average price of devices was $ 297.

Judging by the report, ASP growth for the first quarter of 2020 amounted to 20.7 percent compared to the same period last year. According to experts, the appreciation is due to the high demand for flagship folding smartphones. The increase in ASP was directly influenced by the output of the top Galaxy S20 devices and the Galaxy Z Flip clamshell.

The folding smartphone Galaxy Z Flip was introduced in mid-February. The device received two displays, a Snapdragon 855+ processor, 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal memory, a dual camera with two lenses with a resolution of 12 megapixels. The cost of a clamshell in Russia amounted to 120 thousand rubles.
