Scientists want to charge batteries from moisture in the air

Can atmospheric humidity as a new renewable energy source? Researchers at Tel Aviv University have discovered that water vapor can be a new way to generate electricity.

So far, the voltage generated in their experiments is extremely low. But if you find a way to increase, then due to moisture you can even charge the batteries.

“If an AA battery has a voltage of 1.5 V, in the future we can create a practical way to charge them from water vapor in the air,” says Colin Price, a researcher at the Porter School and the University of Tel Aviv.
